Altar servers, youth and adults alike, assist the celebrant at the altar during Mass and other liturgical occasions, supporting the presider by carrying the cross, holding the book, and preparing the altar. Because of the importance of this ministry, participants commit to serving when scheduled, attending ongoing training sessions, and arriving at least 15 minutes before Mass. This ministry is open to all who have received their First Holy Communion.
